PACE – Providing Access to Childcare and Employment

So Pace is a project that’s being delivered in Brighton & Hove. It’s to support parents of 2-3 year olds to look at employment training and also have support with childcare from the beginning of the project all the way through until they start work I got into Pace by attending a baby group, and noticing a friend of mine was volunteering and she was a member of Pace. Janet my key worker has literally done so much in a short space of time I’m now a volunteer at a mother and baby group. I have done lots of courses including baby and toddler first aid, a food safety and hygiene course Pace has meant for me, especially my key worker Janet – she’s boosted my confidence, she’s helped me out with getting my son into a nursery, applying for two-year funding, literally applying for courses and speaking to people where I didn’t have the confidence to do that before When I started on this programme I had many opportunities for my Iife and for living in this community, in this country, in this area. I’m very happy here My key worker has helped me immensely. He’s been there for me in many ways, not just in trying to find a job but just being an immense support and being there and very approachable I’m a very active volunteer now, from going into an internship to now volunteering in three different places I sum up Pace by saying it’s been an extremely positive experience, very helpful and beneficial for my future and making me make the right decisions and giving me the time to do that It’s a funded European project and we’re looking for more people to sign up So if anyone’s interested then let us know
