DO NOT Start a Business Until You Watch This

hi everyone and welcome back to my channel my name is Erin and this channel is all about entrepreneurship and living your best life and in today's video I just wanted to talk about some of the things that I guess you could shoot book of it that you should consider before starting an online business someone asked me the other day do I truly believe that every single person could be an entrepreneur and whilst I don't know that's a little bit of a hard question to answer I think there is definitely some traits that make people better entrepreneurs I still think any human has the ability to develop those traits so therefore my answer would be yes however the thing that I would consider for a lot of people is intention so I want to talk about today a few things that if you're experiencing then maybe you should not start an online business sorry if you did enjoy this video I would very much appreciate it if you gave it a big thumbs up we're at of course if you are new around here then consider subscribing and like always I have an audio training for free in the description that was so professional if you're new around here I've got an audio training signup for it it's really good I recorded it in my underpants okay so I want us to title this video do not start on online business until you watch this one of the most important things one of the most important factors of having a successful online business in 2019 and beyond is that you are chasing fulfilment and not profit there are so many people who are starting online businesses because they want to fill a gap in the market or possibly because they want to I don't know live a different life that they're currently living but what they end up doing is winding up a year into their business possibly not even making money because a they can't keep up because they're not talking about something they're passionate about but B they find out feeling really really unfulfilled stuff and just as lost as they were in the beginning because what they did was they chased profits and not passion fulfilment is honestly one of the most important things when it comes to an online business these days and so don't start a business unless it's in an area that you are going to be happy satisfied and fulfilled in take the time to actually find something that you're passionate about gaps in the market great but sustainability is even better you know we're not here to just well maybe it's your goal but for the most part for the people watching this channel you know you're not just creating something so that in seven years you can sell it and move on I think you're creating something because you want to be a teacher you want to be a leader you want to impact the lives of others so stop being in a hurry and just choosing the first thing that you think is going to be profitable and actually take the time so you can sit off what is the most fulfilling path for me if you take the time to actually find your purpose and I know that sounds a little bit Zen but if you actually take the time to find your purpose not only are you going to find it much easier to actually create the business because it's something that you are truly interested in but then two three four years down the track you're not going to be like Who am I why do I feel so unhappy every single day you will probably not get burnt out you know again so many people are getting burnt out these days I don't feel burnt out even though that you know it's Saturday at 2:25 p.m. gonna be filming since like this morning because I'm talking about something that I'm truly passionate about burnout comes from doing things that you have resistance towards burnout often comes from doing things that are not energizing to you right it's draining of your energy but if you're just you know speaking about a hobby is speaking about something that you're fulfilled about yes of course you need to still rest but ultimately at the end of the day you have so much more longevity in that area if you are truly fulfilled so before you start a business make sure you're not just looking or choosing a topic you know off petrus that you think is going to be profitable like I know I've created those those videos in the past but the most ridiculous thing that you could do is go and search like most profitable online businesses you can start pick one off the video and go start it if it's not something that you really really want to do choose fulfillment over profit and the prophet will come I promise and then I guess beyond that don't start a business if you think you're going to get rich quick this is one of the things that frustrate me so much and I know I'm not the first person to say this but so many people think that you know starting an online business is going allow you to like leave your full-time job in three weeks it takes time to make money in an online business it took me two and a half years of building my audience before I ever made a sense a lot of people think that I made six figures in my first year okay yes six figures officially the year I launched my coaching practice ball tonight the end of the day I had two and a half years of experience of building an audience online and even beyond that I had four years of experience in social media before I even you know officially had a business so ultimately at the end of the day it really does take time it takes you time to make money it takes you time to grow an audience if you're looking for something to get rich quickly then you've honestly probably got a better chance at buying a lottery ticket than you do at starting a business yes I'm saying quickly as in like weeks days you can make money if you're willing to put in the work like a six-figure business in the first year plenty of my clients have done it but ultimately at the end of the day if you are not willing to put in that work to get those quick results and you were just kind of expecting that you could put up a website and all of a sudden be a millionaire then you've got another thing coming my friend you need to put in the work or you need to be patient AF either way it still takes time effort and resources to get money in your business so don't feel like oh I'm just gonna start something tomorrow and be like handing in my resignation the next day no it's not like that you need to be in it for the long run and then like beyond that don't start a business if you think it's gonna be easier than having a job look this is a big one guys I see so many people who come to me and they say I can't handle my job anymore because you know I've got some co-workers who'd store the last biscuit and they're really angry and so I don't want to work there anymore like someone shouted at me okay I sometimes wish someone stole the last biscuit and I was getting shouted out on the phone that would be so much easier than having well often feeling like the entire world is coming at you and every single person in the world wants something for you starting a business is hard like it really is it's much harder than having most jobs I understand there's definitely lots of jobs out there that are harder than starting a business but for the most part if you work in an office and you are only dealing with office politics it's less risky to deal with all of that than it is to start a business you know you've got probably going to have to work in the evenings on the weekends you're probably gonna have to sacrifice social events you're probably gonna have to put in a lot of effort you're probably gonna have to put yourself out there a lot you're probably going to have to be vulnerable if you want to succeed in the online space how is that ever easier than starting a business sorry than working in a job yes okay you have the freedom of your designing your own schedule but never is that less than you would probably work in your job it's as a matter of fact probably more bright businesses having a business specifically in the first couple of years it's like a 24 hour a day thing if you're not working on it you're thinking about it so yes if you're one of those people who's like oh I want to just quit my job and take my laptop and work on the beach that's a possibility absolutely but it's not something that's gonna come quickly or easy it's something that you're probably going to have to work for and wait for so if you're wanting to just leave your job so that you can sleep until 11:00 a.m. and then watch Netflix all day well the – rolls in then you have another thing coming okay at the end of the day you've got to work for that you've got to put in the ground work it's a reality that you can live but it's not anything that's going to be instant and then the final thing and this is I guess more of a piece of advice than a consideration of before starting a business but you have to be prepared to work on yourself you know starting a business is a very introspective journey in order for you to be able to develop the skills the habits the know-how to be a successful entrepreneur you have to be eight willing to crack yourself wide open I have to work on my money limitations every single day all my fears on a lot of the things that you know I have struggled with right from back when I was a little kid in order to create wealth and to develop success online and I have to do that every single day so if you're not willing to work on yourself if you're not willing to open up and be vulnerable and really develop yourself intrinsically it's going to be really high tsa and online business or any business all become successful at anything in life all of the leaders who are successful in any area to some degree work on themselves they are just some degree introspective you know Steve Jobs would like Elena fields with no shoes on for like hours and hours and hours I am thinking about who he was who he wanted to be and what he wanted to create you have to be willing to dig deep inside yourself in order to create the results outside of yourself do not start a business unless you are willing to work on yourself those are just a few things that I wanted to share maybe they inspired you maybe they deterred you I don't know that's up for you to decide but ultimately at the end of the day to answer the question do I think everyone can be successful in online business yes I really do if you are willing to do something that makes you happy and fulfilled you are not just doing this as a quick fix or as a alternative to your job or a way to make money instantly and you're willing to work on yourself those in my opinion are the things that will help every single person to be able to be successful with online business so that's it for me hopefully this video is helpful thank you so much for watching I do the hand too early and I will see you in the next video bye guys

  1. My favourite response to those “dreamers” who think that the entrepreneurial life means not having to deal with the demands of a boss and office politics: You will have multiple bosses. You will need to be able to balance the demands from your clients and the demands of your own business. You will still need to develop the ability to deal with the politics of business which go way beyond who took the last biscuit.

  2. I totally agree with you on this one, Erin! Some people think that having a business does not require work, they are so wrong. Having your own business is in my own opinion twice as hard as an office job. Though your time is flexible, you might have the time in your hands but it sure does need a lot of work. And also the most important thing for me is that you should love what you're doing. Affiliate marketing helped me discover what I love to do. I am one happy kid 💖😍🎉✨

  3. Something else I see that’s more difficult is maintaining your own boundaries and scheduling. I have struggled with this to start and still do, but have gotten much better at scheduling my work and closing it all down for the night. Also, so important that you are able to be a self-starter and hold yourself accountable!

  4. Resiliency is the thing I see missing from most new entrepreneurs. I’ve been in biz for 20 years, both successfully and not. The secret to my success? Keeping at it. But learning and not just repeating the same mistakes.
