Balancing Your Work Life and Home Life

Balancing Your Work Life and Home Life

I don’t, I still haven’t figured that out yet But I think for the most part what I’m trying to work on is setting boundaries to make sure that when I’m at home, I’m dedicated to my motherly duties and when I’m at work, I’m efficient, and I do my job. I am blessed. (I know you want to go there.) I am blessed to have a wonderful support system My husband sometimes takes Sanjeev, in fact he takes him probably half the time to school. And then we are also blessed to have my step daughter and she will sometimes pick him up and helps take care of Sanjeev as well. Oh, sometimes it’s tough. I, luckily, I have good help from my husband, and my kids are good, and they know that I have to be gone sometimes. I can’t always take them to school and I can’t always pick them up, but I do my best. I think the hardest thing for me is missing stuff with them, I don’t like to miss games. I don’t like to miss school events. So, fortunately the way my practice works, I try to not take a full day every week. Instead, I schedule my time off when they have something at school. I think it definitely puts things in perspective. But how do I do it? It’s teamwork. It’s working with my husband. It’s working with the different people, my friends that help out. It’s working with different family members that help out, that type of thing. It’s always hard. It’s all about scheduling and just trying to give both things enough time. So trying to make sure you give enough time for work but then enough time to make sure we can do everything that they want to do. They’re super active kids, and so we’re trying to make sure that they get to stay involved. You do outside soccer. We have a good system in place for trying to stay organized. We, my husband has, who’s also a physician, has more normal kind of working hours through the week. So that is super helpful. Everybody chips in working at home, setting the table helping make dinner, clean up after themselves. So I’m lucky that I have a great team at home and then also at work You
